Even when you think you have a million ideas while planning something like this, you can find yourself completely blanking out the moment pen meets paper. I’m sure I’ll hit my stride over time.
I suppose it’s best to start by explaining my purpose here. I’m going to assume you’ve heard of AI. 🙂 Honestly, if you haven’t, I’d suggest just staying in your cave. And if you insist on coming out, the world will probably beat you right back into it anyway.
For years, I’ve had this idea of setting up a website and jotting things down. To be honest, it would be fair to say I wanted to get the knowledge building up in my head out into the world. Because while I’m constantly bombarding myself with information, a certain loneliness unfortunately comes with it. After a while, looking for ways to share things with the outside world becomes inevitable.
Actually, making YouTube videos could have been nice. But setting up the necessary gear is a whole ordeal on its own. On top of that, since I don’t have a suitable space to shoot videos, I went back to the blog idea that’s been on my mind for years.
If you’re wondering, “What does AI have to do with any of this?” well, AI was actually one of the most crucial factors in developing this idea. If something can be done, learning by doing is always my first choice. As someone who has been immersed in technology and gadgets for years, I wanted to build my own site and bring this idea to life. But when you don’t know how to code, you end up dependent on ready-made website builders or purchased templates. I’m not saying they’re bad, but I’ve always wanted to dive a bit deeper. That’s exactly where AI stepped in and helped me build this site.
Whether studying, reading books, or analyzing companies, I’ve always worked by taking constant notes. Pen and paper have always been my best friends. However, with the rise of AI, the possibilities of what you can do with notes expanded so much that it became necessary to work through those notes with AI models. Analyzing and reviewing notes with AI models is incredibly useful; I highly recommend it. So I thought, “Since I’m taking these notes anyway, and since I can build a website, why not take this idea off the shelf after all these years?” We’ll see how it turns out over time.
If you’re thinking, “Alright, we get that you’ll write down your notes, but what subjects do you actually take notes on?” honestly, I have so many interests that it feels like even if I didn’t work a regular job and spent a hundred years just focusing on them, I still wouldn’t get bored. I haven’t been bored for about ten years now—the only difference is that I’ve been working at the same time. I’ve been repeating this sentence for five or six years, and people find it odd every single time. Personally, I find it odd when people get married, upgrade their phones every year, and spend at least two or three months’ worth of salary doing so. There are plenty of other things I find even weirder, but somehow we manage to get along. I want to write about these too, and we’ll see what you think of my quirky ideas.
Getting back to the notes, writing essays on topics people might find strange is at the top of my list. Sometimes I like to rewrite my thoughts on the exact same topic years later. This is where AI comes in incredibly handy. I can easily analyze the evolution between my past and present ideas by prompting it.
Technology, especially computer technologies, is a field I’ve been interested in since childhood. What started as a hobby of constantly tearing things apart and experimenting on my own later evolved through reading extensively, almost at an academic level.
AI models and developments in this field have become my latest hobby over the past year. I don’t just follow news about models or companies. I also thoroughly enjoy reading about how we can develop our own models, how to run open-source models on our own servers, the required TPS, VRAM, or RAM for it, as well as AI vectors, RAG, LLMs, and many other related topics.
I can also list more familiar interests like movies, TV series, anime, manhwa, and books. I try to keep up with almost every good new release without missing a beat. Let’s see when my brain finally explodes. 🤯
Lastly, partly due to my major, economics and finance is the area where I spend the most time and derive the most enjoyment outside of my profession. Finance is technically a subfield of economics, though I don’t know if other fields have a similar dynamic. It really makes you want to ask, “How on earth is this just a subfield?” I completed my master’s degree in economics, a journey that took just under four years. As for finance, I’ve been interested in it semi-professionally for three or four years, but it wouldn’t be a lie to say I’m still at the very beginning. 🙂 Of course, I’m exaggerating a bit—economics is truly a vast ocean. You could spend years studying monetary theory and policy alone. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the economic situations of the countries around us. 🙂
As you can tell, I’m not a professional writer. If it weren’t for AI helping me build the site, analyze my notes, and correct my grammar and spelling mistakes across all my posts, this blog probably wouldn’t even exist.
I don’t have any grand goals or lofty claims. Plus, the site doesn’t cost me anything, so I have no financial expectations in return. For that reason, as the name suggests, I’ll just be freely jotting things down. I’ll be happy if anyone finds value in what I write. For those who don’t, I genuinely hope you spend your time on much higher-quality things. Because even though we rarely appreciate it enough, time is the most valuable asset in the world.
